Lebanon; Art Portfolio

Lebanon appeals to me as a photographer because of its rich architectural heritage, which can be traced back over 7,000 years to the ancient Roman civilization of Phoenicia, which built several major cities along the med coastline. Many ancient ruins and fine examples from this fascinating period still survive today in modern-day Lebanon, from Baalbek in the North-East to Tyre on the South coast. Ancient history and contemporary architecture coexist in Lebanon, a nation of contrasts.

This portfolio ebook has some of my greatest architectural images from Lebanon, with a range of aesthetics from various eras. My images try to convey the beauty and complexity of Lebanese architecture from Beirut, to the old buildings around Tripoli. I hope that readers of this ebook will have a greater understanding of the country’s rich cultural legacy, which includes a theme we look at a lot in this portfolio – The Lebanese or Ottoman Mansion.
